Over the past year, Aardappelbedrijf Prinzen has undergone significant development, with highlights including the construction of a new potato storage facility and the installation of a modern optical sorting system. In this project, we ensured that the entire line—from the optical sorting machine to the modern crate handling system—could operate dust-free.
Before the potatoes enter the sorting process, we use wind shifting to remove all foliage and other debris from the product flow. Dust is then extracted at various points throughout the process, with the focus on the optical sorter. Here, the potatoes are sorted using compressed air, which generates a significant amount of dust.
To ensure optimal operation of the optical sorting machine, it is crucial to extract dust at the source so that the camera technology can function properly.
