Wind shifting in the potato line: a night-and-day difference

Willem Quaak of Quaak Potato in Scherpenisse is certain: good extraction is essential when packaging unwashed potatoes.

In 2019, Willem invested in his first dust extraction system from Jongejans Luchttechniek. His company has grown rapidly since then, and this year a new warehouse was built to expand packaging capacity. This meant further discussions with Jongejans: the existing system was modified and an additional extraction system was added.

Input line – the power of windshifting

At the infeed stage, the focus is now on wind shifting: a clever combination of blowing and suction that ensures the potatoes enter the line much cleaner. Foliage and other debris are effectively separated, and the entire airflow is then purified in the Jongejans PGF filter system.

Packaging – clean air, clean results

In the packaging industry, it's all about a healthy working environment and protecting the optical sorters and packaging machines. Clean air is the key to continuity and quality.

“"In times of staff shortages, automation is absolutely essential. We work with a great team here, and we want to keep it that way. That's why a clean work environment is essential." – Willem Quaak

With Jongejans Air Technology, Quaak Potato gets the most out of its potato line – clean, efficient and future-proof.
