After 16 years of intensive and successful use of its previous Jongejans installations, Van der Vlugt was ready for the next step. The existing cyclones performed reliably for many years, demonstrating the importance of a dependable extraction system for continuous flower bulb processing.
The existing cyclones are now being reused at another location. At the current production site, Van der Vlugt is making room for a new generation of dust extraction, designed to provide greater capacity, improved efficiency and room for future growth.
Greater capacity with an efficient extraction system
For the new installation, Van der Vlugt once again chose the experience and technology of Jongejans. The extraction system is designed for reliable performance during intensive production periods and can support multiple processing lines.
An important feature of the installation is the use of negative-pressure cyclones. Dust-laden air passes through the cyclone before reaching the fan. This helps keep the fan cleaner and reduces contamination and wear.
The result is a low-maintenance system designed for reliable long-term operation. The installation can also operate more quietly, contributing to improved working conditions.
Jongejans develops dedicated extraction systems for flower bulb processing, designed to remove dust, skins and unwanted product parts directly from the processing line. View the overview of our extraction systems for more options.
Flexible dust extraction through frequency controllers
Van der Vlugt wants the new installation to extract from more production lines while improving efficiency. Frequency controllers allow the system capacity to be adapted more precisely to actual production requirements.
Max van der Vlugt: “With the new extraction systems, we want to extract from more lines while working more efficiently. Thanks to the frequency controllers, we can adjust the systems much more accurately to our production. This saves energy and gives us greater flexibility in daily operation.”
By matching the dust extraction capacity to actual demand, the installation can respond efficiently to changing production conditions.
For applications where lightweight material such as skins, foliage or loose particles needs to be separated from the product stream, Windshifting can also be integrated with an extraction system.
A partnership spanning generations
The relationship between Van der Vlugt and Jongejans goes back several generations. The previous generation already relied on Jongejans extraction solutions, and the positive experience with those installations provided a strong foundation for this new investment.
Today, a new generation is taking the company forward. Max van der Vlugt, his brother Nard and their cousin Jort are continuing to develop the family business with a strong focus on capacity, efficiency and future-proof technology.
Confidence in proven technology
During the flower bulb season, production lines need to operate continuously. A dependable extraction system and correctly designed ducting are therefore essential. Unnecessary downtime and intensive maintenance are simply not an option during peak production.
“For us, the decision was clear,” says Max. “Jongejans is a specialist in this field. Our previous installations operated reliably for many years. We are taking that confidence with us into this new investment.”
With the new system, Van der Vlugt is investing not only in modern dust extraction, but also in the long-term continuity of its business. Increased capacity, more efficient energy use and greater flexibility create a solid foundation for further growth.
A trusted partnership therefore enters a new chapter: a new generation of entrepreneurs, future-proof technology and the proven expertise of Jongejans.
