Dust-free sorting line for Mts Persoon in Uithuizen

Industry

Potatoes

At Mts Persoon in Uithuizen, Jongejans Luchttechniek installed a customised dust extraction solution for potato processing. The modern sorting line is equipped with an Agra PGF 500, enabling fine dust to be extracted as close to the source as possible.

The result is a cleaner, safer and more pleasant working environment, with less dust spreading around the sorting line and reduced dust deposits on machinery and equipment.

Fine dust during potato sorting

Sorting and processing potatoes can generate considerable amounts of fine dust. At transfer, handling and sorting points in particular, dust can quickly spread throughout the working area.

This can lead to dust settling on machinery, floors and other surfaces, increased cleaning requirements and poorer air quality around the sorting line.

For Mts Persoon, it was therefore important not simply to remove dust from the room afterwards, but to capture it directly at the source..

Dust extraction on the sorting line with the Agra PGF 500

For the new sorting line, Jongejans Luchttechniek selected the Agra PGF 500. This filtration system is designed for the extraction of fine dust particles in intensive processing operations and is suitable for continuous use.

The dust extraction system was carefully adapted to the layout and operation of the sorting line. By capturing dust at the relevant points, the system helps prevent fine dust from spreading unnecessarily throughout the working area.

The Agra PGF filter removes fine dust from the airflow and automatically cleans the filter elements using compressed air. This helps maintain a stable airflow and reliable performance, even in environments with high dust concentrations.

A cleaner and more comfortable working environment

Effective dust extraction does more than improve air quality. It also helps keep the area around the sorting line cleaner.

Reduced dust levels can contribute to:

  • fewer dust deposits on machinery and equipment;
  • less cleaning work;
  • a cleaner workplace;
  • reduced exposure to airborne fine dust;
  • a more comfortable working environment;
  • improved day-to-day conditions around the sorting line.

By extracting dust close to its source, it is prevented from spreading throughout the entire workspace first.

Investing in health and operational continuity

For Gerald Persoon, employee health is an important consideration when investing in new technology. A clean workplace and good working conditions not only benefit employees, but also contribute to a professional and future-oriented operation.

This reflects the way Jongejans Luchttechniek designs an extraction system. The amount of dust is only one factor. The machinery, workspace layout, product flow and locations where employees work are also taken into account.

The result is a solution that is technically effective and practical in everyday operation.

Less dust on machinery and equipment

Dust that is not extracted can accumulate on machinery, sensors and other components of a production line.

A properly designed dust extraction system helps reduce this contamination. Machinery remains cleaner and maintenance can become easier and more efficient.

For a potato sorting line, the benefits therefore go beyond cleaner air alone. The entire installation is exposed to less airborne dust.

A future-ready solution for Mts Persoon

With the Agra PGF 500, Mts Persoon has invested in a long-term solution for fine dust around the sorting line.

The system contributes to:

  • targeted extraction of fine dust;
  • a cleaner sorting line;
  • reduced dust spreading through the working area;
  • cleaner machinery and equipment;
  • improved working conditions;
  • a future-ready working environment.

This project demonstrates how a dust extraction system for potato processing can be adapted to both the production process and the people working with the installation every day.
